45th reunion extra activities (Oct 26-27, 2018)

These are unofficial, but some of us from out of town have little else to do, so we will be:

  • Attending the Big Game (Vintage at Napa), Friday night 7 PM
  • Having a BYO food picnic at Kennedy Park on Saturday from noon to 3 PM.  NOTE: we do not have an alcohol permit so please do not bring any.  We also don’t have a reserved area so drive around and look for cars that have ’73’ signs taped to the window.

And of course there’s the dinner at Compadres starting at 6 PM.  But you should already know about that if you are reading this.

Joyce (Cleveland) Conley (1954-2018)

Nov 29, 1954 – Feb 01, 2018

Joyce Marie Conley was born on November 29, 1954. She resided the entirety of her life in Napa. She was a member of the first graduating class of Vintage High School in 1973. She passed away on February 1st from a stroke. She spent the final hours of her life surrounded by her loving family. Her Daughters and Grandchildren were able to have meaningful communication with her during her last hours—a gift they will cherish in their hearts forever.

Joyce made everyone feel special and loved. Her favorite thing to say to her Grandchildren was “I love you, I love you, I love you” with a sweet enduring expression while clutching them in her grasp. She loved her career as a nanny for many years to the Kako family. She also worked many years in hospital communications at Napa State Hospital. She had a passion for all things relating to Disneyland—she had a passion for anything that would bring a smile to your face. Joyce spent uncountable hours at various Bingo halls alerting everyone if she happened to be the lucky winner. She was infamous for her Bingo winning yell.

She was very proud of her Daughters, both serving their communities as Registered Nurses. Joyce is survived by her children Janet Peacock and Jamie Conley. Janet and Luke have two children Aidan (14) and Elise Peacock (12) of Fremont, CA. Jamie has one child Gabriel Conley-Douglas (9) of Napa. Also survived by her three brothers Jimmie, Jerry and Jackie Cleveland all Napa natives. Joyce also had several cherished nieces and nephews.
