Forrest L. Lilley (1955-1978)

10 May 1955 – 13 Aug 1978 (Napa)

Forrest Lilley of Vallejo was killed in a fiery head-on collision with a pickup truck on Silverado Trail about 5:10 PM Sunday, Aug 13, according to the California Highway Patrol. Lilley was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup driven by Manual Lema, 60, of Oakland.
Lema told the CHP Lilley was riding alongside another cycle driven by Albert Porreco, 30, of Benecia, when Lilley apparently lost his balance. Lilley reportedly veered over into the opposing lane into the path of Lema’s truck. Lema said he swerved to the right and slowed but could not avoid a collision. Lilley’s cycle burst into flames upon impact, Lema told the CHP. Following the crash, Lema’s truck went off the road, up a dirt bank and back onto the road.
