Larry Bohland (1954-2018)

Larry Bohland (63) passed away suddenly Friday August 10, 2018 in Manteca.

He was born September 27, 1954 in Vallejo, CA to Charles and Eunice Bohland. He retired from Kaiser Permanente in 2010. During his retirement years he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Larry left behind his wife Nellie Bohland; children Tiffany Bohland, Ashley (Jeremy) Barth, Alisha Bohland, four step-children; 14 grandchildren; and a brother Kenny Bohland.

Kenneth Noel (1953-2018)

On April 27, 2018, our dear brother, uncle and friend, Ken Noel, went home to be with our Lord.

Kenneth Paul Noel was born October 1, 1953 to Paul and Marjorie Noel in Napa, Ca. Ken was the youngest of four siblings and a friendly, kindred spirit to all who knew him. Throughout his life Ken enjoyed collecting butterflies, camping with family, and fishing. He was also an avid walker and enjoyed his daily walks. When he wasn’t spending time outdoors, you could catch him following his favorite teams, the 49ers and the Giants.

In the early 90’s he moved from Napa to Sonoma. It was there he met and married the love of his life, Judy Whitten on May 1, 1998. Ken adored Judy and took loving care of her until her death December 1, 2010.

Ken is survived by brother David & Eumelia Noel of San Jose, sister Marilyn & Rod Slade of Napa, brother Gary & Debbie Noel of Prosser, Wa., nephews Ryan Slade and Dan Noel, nieces Angela Slade-Buchanan, Kim Noel-Channel and Tina Noel, along with 9 great nieces and nephews and in-laws, Ed and Jackie Whitten who have remained close, along with his beloved church family.

A celebration of Ken’s life was held on June 8, 2018 at the Sonoma Church of the Nazarene in Napa.

Kenneth (Cronk) Adamson (1954-1991)

Kenneth B. (Cronk) Adamson, a former Napa resident, died in Mullan Idaho Nov 4, 1991. He was 37.

Mr Adamson was born on April 3, 1954 in Middlesex, New Jersey, to John and Pat Cronk. They came to California in 1958 and to Napa in 1961. Mr. Adamson attended St. John’s Lutheran School, Northwood Elementary, Redwood Junior High, Napa High, and graduating from Vintage High in 1973. While at Redwood, he was active in all the choirs and musicals.

He married his current wife on December 7, 1988, in Napa. He had two previous marriages, first to Glenda (Bartelson) Meats and his second to Diane Nance. He has a daughter from his first marriage.

Mr. Adamson worked for George Rosenberg, Santa Rosa Egg Company and North Bay Produce before moving to Mullan in June of 1990. He was presently working at Wallace Inn in Wallace, Idaho.

He coached girls softball and cheerleaders. He was a charter member and president of the Napa Jaycees. He was president of the Silver Valley Jaycees in Mullan, served as local chairman of the Yellow Ribbon Campaign and was running for City Council at the time of his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Mr. Adamson is survived by his wife, Jenny of Mullan; his daughter, Charlene of Napa; his father, John Cronk of Sacramento; his mother, Pat (Cronk) Laughner of Napa; two sisters, Dorothy Guadagni of Napa and Kimberly Beck of New Jersey; four brothers, Robert Cole of Petaluma, Donald Cronk of Australia, Dennis Cronk of Glen Ellen, and Nelson Cronk of Santa Rosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held in Mullan, Idaho

Karen M. Murphy (1955-2015)

Karen Marie Murphy, aged 60 years, from Clatskanie, Oregon, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Oregon Health and Science University.
Karen was born on May 11, 1955, in Vallejo, California to her parents Conrad and Harriet (Morris) Murphy.
The children of Karen Murphy hosted a Celebration of Life for Karen on February 13, 2016, at the Clatskanie Baptist Church in Clatskanie, Oregon.

Forrest L. Lilley (1955-1978)


10 May 1955 – 13 Aug 1978 (Napa)

Forrest Lilley of Vallejo was killed in a fiery head-on collision with a pickup truck on Silverado Trail about 5:10 PM Sunday, Aug 13, according to the California Highway Patrol. Lilley was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup driven by Manual Lema, 60, of Oakland.
Lema told the CHP Lilley was riding alongside another cycle driven by Albert Porreco, 30, of Benecia, when Lilley apparently lost his balance. Lilley reportedly veered over into the opposing lane into the path of Lema’s truck. Lema said he swerved to the right and slowed but could not avoid a collision. Lilley’s cycle burst into flames upon impact, Lema told the CHP. Following the crash, Lema’s truck went off the road, up a dirt bank and back onto the road.

Darrel Means (1955-1988)

Darrel O. Means, 32, died Saturday. Mr. Means was born in Oakland on August 29, 1955 to Michael and Adair “Penny” Means. He attended Napa schools and graduated from Napa Valley College in 1982.
He was active in college plays, acted with Pretenders Playhouse, and was active in the Silverado Ballet. Mr. Means also attended San Jose State University.
Mr. Means is survived by his mother, Adair “Penny” Means of Napa; his father, Michael Means of Napa; three brothers, David of Napa, Darian of Austin, Texas, and Dana of Modesto.
Inurnment was at Napa Valley Memorial Gardens Mortuary.

David Torres (1954-2018)

David Torres died in Napa, California at the age of 64. He is survived by his brother Arthur and sister Rebecca. He is preceded in death by his father Modesto, mother Adelia, sister Theresa.
David was born on September 17, 1954 in Napa. He graduated from Vintage High in 1973 and has resided in Yountville. He worked as a retail clerk at Albertsons for many years.
The funeral service was held September 19, 2018 at Tulocay Cemetery.

Joyce (Cleveland) Conley (1954-2018)

Joyce Marie Conley was born on November 29, 1954. She resided the entirety of her life in Napa. She was a member of the first graduating class of Vintage High School in 1973. She passed away on February 1st from a stroke. She spent the final hours of her life surrounded by her loving family. Her Daughters and Grandchildren were able to have meaningful communication with her during her last hours—a gift they will cherish in their hearts forever.

Joyce made everyone feel special and loved. Her favorite thing to say to her Grandchildren was “I love you, I love you, I love you” with a sweet enduring expression while clutching them in her grasp. She loved her career as a nanny for many years to the Kako family. She also worked many years in hospital communications at Napa State Hospital. She had a passion for all things relating to Disneyland—she had a passion for anything that would bring a smile to your face. Joyce spent uncountable hours at various Bingo halls alerting everyone if she happened to be the lucky winner. She was infamous for her Bingo winning yell.

She was very proud of her Daughters, both serving their communities as Registered Nurses. Joyce is survived by her children Janet Peacock and Jamie Conley. Janet and Luke have two children Aidan (14) and Elise Peacock (12) of Fremont, CA. Jamie has one child Gabriel Conley-Douglas (9) of Napa. Also survived by her three brothers Jimmie, Jerry and Jackie Cleveland all Napa natives. Joyce also had several cherished nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was held on February 10, 2018 at Tulocay Cemetery and Funeral Home, followed by a reception there.

Blaine Cherrington (1954-2009)

NAPA – Blaine J. Cherrington, 55, passed away at Napa Nursing Center on Oct. 6, 2009. A lifelong resident of Napa, Blaine was born April 22, 1954, to Walter and Cecilia (Enders) Cherrington.

Blaine attended local schools and graduated from Vintage High School. He was employed by PSI and Napa Support Services. He took training to work for local Search and Rescue teams and he always was listening to his police radio. He liked to fish and ride his bike.

He is survived by his parents, Walter “Blaine” and Cecilia Cherrington of Napa; his brother, James D. Cherrington and his wife Jeanette of Napa; one nephew, Matthew Cherrington; and many cousins and uncles.
